PS 39 is continuing our participation in the ADL's No Place for Hate Program (NP4H). As our first activity, students have discussed the NP4H promise and signed a class puzzle piece for our bulletin board near the cafeteria. The NP4H program clearly defines expectations in behavior for all members of the community and helps everyone recognize their role in combating bias and bullying as a means to stop the escalation of hate. Our school will be planning several activities throughout the year to demonstrate these ideals. Please attend the year's first general membership meeting of the PS 39 Parent Association next week! The meeting will be held at Camp Friendship on Wednesday, September 26th, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. In addition to being an excellent way to meet the leadership and learn about all of the great things one can do to get involved in the Parent Association, we are excited to announce that there will be an expedited election for a vacant Executive Board seat focused on communication strategies and content. For more information about the position or how to nominate someone for this role please contact any Board member or the Parent Association President, Rudi Ganz, at [email protected].. Learn more about our Parent Association and our Executive Board on our page onps39.org: ps39.org/parent-association-pa Parents are invited to visit their child's classroom and to learn about the grade level curriculum, teaching and assessment methods and classroom schedules. Parent will have the opportunity to ask questions and will also be able to meet with our cluster teachers, academic intervention teachers and other support staff.
