NYC School Survey- Deadline FRIDAY, March 31

​​Help us reach our 100% participation goal
It's time for the NYC School Survey.  This is your opportunity to share feedback about your experiences at PS 39 with the Department of Education.  All families received their green survey envelope at conferences or in their child's folder.  Paper surveys can be returned using the provided envelope or you can complete the survey online HERE  (note: you will need your child's survey code from the paper survey to submit online).  Thank you for helping us to reach out 100% participation goal and completing this survey before March 31st.

April is Staff Appreciation Month

Our teachers and staff are the heart of our school and they work very hard for our children every day!  That is why our Parent Association is organizing several events all this month to help show our gratitude for all that they do.  Check out how your family can participate HERE.  And here are some dates to put on your calendar:
  • Tuesday, April 4th-  FLOWER DAY/ send your child with 3 flowers for their teacher and staff members
  • Friday, April 7th- GIANT CARD/ sign our giant card at Family Friday sign in 
  • Tuesday, April 25th-  TEACHER LUNCHEON/ sign up HERE send in something for our Italian Feast

Taste of Fifth

Tuesday, April 4/ 6:30- 9:30pm at the Grand Prospect Hall. March PTA Meeting: "Using Parental Controls for Online Safety"

Our March General Meeting has been moved to THURSDAY, MARCH 30th (7-8 pm) in room 103.  We will be welcoming a guest speaker to talk about how to help children stay safe on their technology devices using Parental Control options.  We will also get an update from Ms. de Paz about our new Dance Residency starting this month AND hear about upcoming PTA elections and budget.

Spring Talent Show- Audition Information

Our annual Spring Talent Show will be on Monday, June 5 at MS 51 from 6-8 pm.  Students in grades 2- 5 are invited to audition!  Students must return an audition permission form by FRIDAY, MARCH 24.  Auditions will be held on April 3, 4 and 5 during 7th period.

Kids Rock for Kids

​Two PS 39 kid bands (Are You Kidding Me?! and Technical Difficulties) will be playing a KIDS ROCK FOR KIDS! benefit concert on March 12th at Shapeshifter Lab in the Gowanus (18 Whitwell Place between Carroll and 1st streets). There are two show times: 1 pm (doors open at 12:30) and 3 pm (doors open at 2:30). Admission is $10. All net proceeds will go to these two local and global charities: CHIPs and AFCECO (Afghan Child Education and Care Organization).

PS 39 Book Fair- March 8 & 9

​Class Visit: during the school day March 8
Family Visit: during conferences March 8 & 9
All students will have the chance to visit our PS 39 Book Fair with their class on Wednesday, March 8.  The book fair will be open to families March 8 (5- 7 pm) and March 9 (12:30- 2:30 pm)
 
Children that wish to purchase a book during their class visit should bring money on March 8 in a sealed envelope, labeled with their name and amount enclosed.  (Recommended amount is between $10 - 20)
