This Friday, April 22 is Earth Day! Join the fun and do your best to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Students are encouraged to wear green or nature- themed clothing and to pack a zero waste lunch (using reusable containers so that there is nothing to throw away). Classes are invited to participate in other activities throughout the day. For more information, view our flyer HERE.
PS 39 welcomed Leonie Haimson, founder of Class Size Matters, to our March PTA meeting to discuss overcrowding in NYC public schools. For families that were not able to attend, we encourage you to view the Power Point Presentation from this meeting and learn more about the impact growing enrollment has on our school and district and how the city is responding to these trends. View the presentation HERE. If you are interested in advocacy efforts about class size at PS 39, please contact our PTA presidents, Erica Ashe ([email protected]) and Erin Kiernon ([email protected]).
