Don't miss the Online Silent Auction, April 1st - 11th and the Live Auction on Saturday, April 13 at the Bell House from 7 - 11pm. Hosted by PS 39's Diversity & Inclusion Committee and sponsored by the PS 39 Parent Association, this second workshop will build upon the work in Workshop I, delve more into how children see race and give participants the chance to role play to learn and practice skills for approaching age-appropriate conversations using a racial equity lens.
NOTE: You do not have to have attended Workshop I in order to participate in this workshop! We will share documents from the previous workshop for you to review ahead of time. Thursday, April 4th- PS 39, Room 103 Arrival 6:00 – 6:30 PM, Workshop 6:30 – 8:30 PM Childcare and activities will be available for school-aged children in the cafeteria. A light dinner which will include gluten free & vegetarian options will be provided for participants and children in Rm 103. Just before the workshop begins, children can take their dinners down to the cafeteria. A variety of ticket options are available to ensure all who want to attend this important training can attend. Sunday, May 5 @ Yankee Stadium, 1:05 pm game vs. the Minnesota Twins. We have the rare and exciting opportunity to support our 4th grade teacher, Ms. Ottavino, and cheer on her son, Adam Ottavino, and his new team, the NY Yankees! Adam is also an alum of PS 39, so this will be an amazing event.
We have reserved a block of tickets in Section 208 between the Yankees dugout and the bullpen for the Yankees vs. Minnesota Twins game on Sunday, May 5th, at 1:05 pm. Due to limited availability, tickets will be sold on a first come first serve basis to immediate family and 1 optional guest of PS 39 students and staff members. Tickets will be $40, and if you are interested, act fast and ORDER TICKETS NOW! Stay tuned for more information on custom PS 39 Ottavino t-shirts!! Our Annual PS 39 Book Fair will be here on March 13 -14. All students will visit the book fair with their class during the school day on Wednesday, March 13. If you would like your child to be able to purchase a book, please send cash in a sealed envelope, labeled with your child's name and BOOK FAIR, on Wednesday, March 13. Books will be priced from $4- 20.
Families can also shop during conferences on Wednesday 3/13 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm and Thursday 3/14 from 12:00 - 2:30pm. MANY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Please sign up to help here. |
