ACADEMIC POLICIES

Homework
The purpose for assigning homework is to give children the opportunity to extend lessons, practice skills, engage in critical thinking and develop good work habits.  Homework also serves as one form of communication and feedback between the teacher/family and the family/teacher.  Students, families and teachers share the responsibilities for homework.  Families can help in the following ways:

  • Check the Silver Homework folder every day & empty out items that should remain at home.
  • Answer questions & review assignment for completion, but allow your child to complete the assignment independently.
  • Notify the teacher if your child is have difficulty completing an assignment and/or finishing work in a timely manner.

Homework Frequency
Homework will be assigned in grades 1-5, Mondays-Thursdays.  Time allotment will vary by grade level.  If you have questions or concerns about homework, please contact your child’s teacher.
