The PS 39 Zippered Hoodie Sweatshirt
It's not too late! The PTA is still offering a classic—and classy!— zippered hoodie sweatshirt as a special-order item. The zip hoodie is available in the following color combinations: ADULT: grey with red plaid letters; navy with aqua OR hot pink letters; maroon with gold letters YOUTH: grey with red plaid letters; navy with aqua OR hot pink letters (NO maroon-sorry!) Lunch Room Volunteers Needed!
Volunteers will help assist and supervise students in the lunch room. All volunteers must attend a training and orientation workshop before volunteering. Please contact our parent coordinator, Karen Herskowitz, for more information (kherskowitz@ps39.org).

Do you have a natural curiosity? Would you like to learn more about our school and how it functions? Want to get more involved in your child's education? Then consider running for a PTA Executive Board position for the 2012-3013 school year. Elections are held in May, but now is a good time to start thinking about it. All positions are up for re-election every year - President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and 4 Members-At-Large. Officer positions can be filled by 2 people working together as "co-" if desired. If you'd like more information about the Board and how it functions, feel free to email current PTA Co-Presidents Susan Moesker or Melissa Williams.

Do You Love the 80's?
Remember leg warmers, light blue eye shadow and "Flock-of Seagulls-hair"? Well, the 80's will come to life again on February 10 at Camp Friendship when PS 39 holds its first-ever 80's Prom Valentine Dance Party. Kids and adults are encouraged to dress in their 80's best. We'll have a DJ, crafts for the kids, snacks, and Karaoke! We are looking for many volunteers to make this happen, so please contact event chair Marilynn Doore (edwardsmum@gmail.com) to volunteer and for more info.
