Please visit Find a School on the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) website and enter your address to the school for which it is zoned.
How do I register my child at PS 39?
The first step is to contact PS 39 Parent Coordinator Rudi Ganz (rganz@ps39.org) and provide the following information:
1. One (1) proof of your child's age (Examples of acceptable forms or documents can be found on this Pre-Registration Checklist).
2. Two (2) proofs of your address,
3. The language(s) you speak at home,
4. The language(s) your child is able to speak, read, and/or write, and
5. Any special education services, accommodations, or support your child received at their last school.
Can I visit PS 39 or take a tour?
Brief in-person classroom visits or building tours may be possible outside of school hours depending on the latest NYCDOE health and safety guidance. Visits will be limited to one adult caregiver per student. All visitors will be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination and a corresponding ID prior to entry. Please visit the official NYCDOE Transportation Overview web page for general information about school transportation. You will also find specific guidelines that determine Transportation Eligibility. If you believe that your child is eligible for either a student Metrocard or a school bus assignment, please contact School Business Manager Karen Herkowitz.
How do I withdraw my child from PS 39?
Please notify secretary Nikki Kelly in advance of your family's departure and complete this brief discharge form at your earliest convenience. You may also records that copies of the materials in your child's cumulative folder be sent to their new school by completing the record release.

- There is a lost & found bin located just inside the lower green door to the right of the main steps. Parents are invited to visit the lost & found during school hours whenever their child loses a hoodie, a water bottle, or anything else. Please check in with Safety Agent Sealy upon arrival.
Grades:

Homework:
Your student's teacher would be the person to answer specific questions about work sent home, and sending a message through ParentSquare would be the preferred method.
